Welcome to the holiday season. This is a busy time for me and my family with all the events, plays, and parties that are happening over the next few weekends. There never seems to be enough time to cook a decent and all-natural meal that my entire family will enjoy. As my availability lessons, I find myself reaching for easy meal solutions. The problem is that many of the “easy” solutions out there are full of chemicals and preservatives that I personally do not like to feed my family. Thanks to Mom’s Meet, I was introduced to Blake’s All-Natural Pot Pies at the right time.
Blake’s All-Natural Pot Pies are made from scratch and in small batches by people – not machines. They are also dairy free and soy free and, like all of their meals, do not contain trans fats or artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. It is a challenge to find a frozen meal like this that are full of fresh veggies, hormone-free and antibiotic-free meats, and no preservatives.
We found ourselves faced with another late dinner night. It was a perfect night for Blake’s All-Natural Beef & Turkey Pot pies. The beauty
of Blake’s is that these pot pies cook in as quick as five and a half minutes in the microwave or in under 40 minutes in a conventional oven. All I had to do was remove the package and place in the pre-heated oven. It was so easy!
As we prepared the table for dinner, we talked about our day of activities and had a few good laughs. Before you knew it, the pot pies were done!
Now I have some picky eaters. The boys sure do love food, and lots of it, but they are still very selective of what they place in their mouth. I was a little unsure if they would like all the vegetables and meat tucked into a cute clever little pie. I served them their pot pies and hoped for the best. To my surprise, they LOVED IT! Both boys gobbled up their turkey pot pie like it was nothing. Finally, another meal I can add to the list of quick “save me” meals.
I had the turkey pot pie while my hubs enjoyed the beef pot pie. Both pies were full of plump vegetables and large pieces of meat. The gravy coated everything in the inside the pie perfectly but was not overwhelming or oozing all over the place. That is what we like – a hearty pot pie that is full of love and goodness. The flavor was very mild. I was used to “other” pot pies that often taste overprocessed and salty. Blake’s was seasoned perfectly and tasted fresh. Finally the crust – oh that crust! It was flaky and thin and tasted very homemade.
I highly recommend Blake’s products for their care and use of quality products. It’s nice to know you can still provide a healthy meal without the guilt. Blake’s really is for busy moms.
Blake’s started as a family farm in Concord, NH by Great Grandma Clara Blake in 1929 raising the finest free-range, all-natural turkeys and soon became a holiday standard for thousands of New England families. In 1970 Charlie Blake sold their first pot pie from the back of his ‘67 Chevy van at St. John’s Church in Concord and thus Blake’s pot pies were started. Four decades later, Charlie and his wife, Sally, were distributing pot pies throughout New England and built a new production facility at the farm. Very little had changed. They were still using Clara’s recipes, cutting vegetables by hand and making gravy from scratch. Theirs was a thrifty, mom-and- pop business operating with a simple goal: Put healthy meals on the table for as many folks as possible. Today, Blake’s meals can be found nationwide and every meal is still made from scratch in small batches just like they always have been. Blake’s has grown from just pot pies to a variety of meals include an organic line of meals and gluten free as well. Blake’s is blessed with a wonderful staff and a shared vision for positively affecting the lives of their customers through their food
